Treatments
We have a specialist team who are experienced in treating patients with anxiety and severe depression.
Our programme is based on cognitive behaviour therapy treatment.
We work with patients to challenge anxiety which provokes thought and irrational beliefs and confront situations they are avoiding.
These cognitive and behavioural interventions help patients to develop more helpful, rational thoughts and beliefs and reduce the fear they experience.
Research has repeatedly illustrated the effectiveness of cognitive behaviour therapy for treating anxiety problems.
Medication may also be prescribed to better manage the symptoms of anxiety.
Anxiety and depression
We offer effective treatment for anxiety problems and severe depression
Some people suffer from anxiety to such an extent that it can prevent them from living a normal life.
Severe anxiety can develop from the way we react to stressful situations and is usually accompanied by a range of psychological and physical symptoms such as tension, dread, irritability, chest pains, palpitations, headaches, sweating and nausea.
Anxiety and depression often occur together. Although not all anxious people suffer from depression, many depressed patients exhibit symptoms of anxiety.
The degree of anxiety may require intervention from your GP, and further specialised professional help from a psychiatrist or psychotherapist.
