Therapeutic Programme

Young people using The Grove experience a range of mental health problems including bi-polar disorder, psychotic illnesses, depressive illnesses and anxiety.

In some cases mental illness is treated together with other problems such as substance misuse, and personality or developmental difficulties. Other young people may have care and treatment needs related to complex family histories including physical and sexual abuse, eating disorders and self harm.

Capio Nightingale have a well established reputation for providing excellent therapy services. The therapeutic work at The Grove is based around group work and community planning meetings with staff and young people. Individual therapeutic programmes are devised for young people during their stay and include individual sessions with therapists as well as family therapy.

Capio Nightingale works closely with families and provides family assessment and ongoing therapy post-discharge where appropriate.

Referrals

Referrals to The Grove are accepted from GPs, NHS child and adolescent mental health services, social services and in some cases, parents.

All referrals are considered on an individual basis and admission is determined by the multidisciplinary team. We aim to give a decision on referrals within a matter of hours providing we have sufficient clinical information.

Capio Nightingale can offer an early opinion about diagnosis and treatment options where required.
