Capio Nightingale launches new enhanced offering
27 Feb 2008
Capio Nightingale announces the launch of an increased range of complimentary therapies to help patients undergoing psychiatric treatment at the hospital.
The hospital has appointed specialists who will focus on sleep and energy management, mindfulness, nutrition, fitness and self image - all key areas which will support the traditional psychological treatment programmes.
At Capio Nightingale we provide high quality consultant led evidence-based treatments for out-patients, day-patients and in-patients, in a safe and supportive environment. We believe that physical health supports mental wellbeing, and that recovery from mental illness requires emotional and physical stability.
The additional complimentary treatment programmes will be overseen by four new Capio Nightingale appointments. These programmes will be run both in groups and individually, and will be monitored by Capio Nightingale practitioners who oversee all patients' individual needs.
Sleep and Energy coach, Dr. Nerina Ramlakhan, will help patients to learn and develop sleep and energy coping strategies, and practical techniques such as breathing, energising, nutrition, exercise, and time management.
Self Image coach, Sarah Brummitt's work will focus on building patients' confidence through developing a better understanding of their image and by taking practical steps to improve their overall physical presence.
Mindfulness therapist, Cindy Cooper, will help patients to learn how to pay moment-to-moment attention to breath, the body, the mind and the world around us, without judgment.
Fitness trainer, Mike Major, will work with patients to provide a realistic introduction to health and fitness. His sessions help individuals develop good physical self awareness and an understanding of their bodies' needs.
Further to this, Capio Nightingale has recently undergone an extensive renovation that will be unveiled at this launch. A suite of new treatment rooms, accommodation and relaxation spaces have been created to ensure a healing environment for patients.
We believe that these facilities represent the best of their kind in the UK.
