Professor Lacey will be leading Capio Nightingale’s renowned eating disorders service which includes Professor Janet Treasure (Consultant Advisor), Dr Helena Fox and Dr Navina Evans. Many of the UK’s leading eating disorders clinicians have benefited from Professors Lacey and Treasure’s guidance over the years.
Following Professor Lacey’s appointment, the Eating Disorders Unit at Capio Nightingale is set to expand to offer a series of pioneering treatment programs for inpatients, day-patients and out-patients.

Capio Nightingal appoints Professor Hubert Lacey as Lead Eating Disorders Consultant

Capio Nightingale has appointed Professor Hubert Lacey as Lead Consultant of the Eating Disorders service, with effect from 1 November 2007.
Professor Lacey is a leading authority on the clinical management of eating disorders and is recognised internationally for his expertise in the treatment of anorexia and bulimia nervosa.
Professor Lacey is also the Lead Clinician for Eating Disorders at St. George’s, where he has developed the largest NHS eating disorders service in the UK, and has held a personal chair as Professor of Psychiatry at the University of London since 1991.
Professor Lacey is Chairman of the European Council on Eating Disorders and is a Past President of the International College of Psychosomatic Medicine. He has written over 140 publications in learned journals on anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, obesity and psychosomatic illness. His new book Overcoming Anorexia Nervosa is being published in December of this year.
